Matilda walked along the path, towards the Professors lab. It had taken a lot of courage thus far, traveling from her parents breedery to here, all by herself. She went slowly, still pondering what pokemon she would get. "Not the mystery pokemon...", she muttered, "I hate surprises." -Maybe a Charmander?- She thought. -Or the Houndour...-.
Suddenly she found herself at the door. She knocked three times, then waited.

A professor's assistant with tossled hair, it was obviously an early morning, answered the door. "Another one," he remarked. Could that be? He had had 6 all last night, trainer's seemed to be nocturnal. "Well come on in and get your Pokemon."

"Sorry for the early start sir, I woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep because I was so excited." She stepped in and looked and the assistant for a moment. He looked like he'd fallen out of bed, rolled into some clothes and answered the door. A large mug of coffee was what he needed. Matilda paused, thinking. Then asked; "Excuse me, sir, I was wondering if you had any shiny pokemon? It's just, I was really hoping for a shiny Charmander... but that's okay if you don't. It was just a small hope." She looked up at the assistant, with the biggest puppy-dog eyes she could manage, which wasn't saying much, because she was terrible at doing puppy-dog eyes.

The Assistant looked at the weak attempt to persuade him but it had worked. "We have a shiny one and a regular one. I will bring the two out and whichever one you choose, that will be your starter. He walked into the pack, made some crashing sounds that didn't sound to good, and came back with two pokeballs and a starter pack. He waited for the girl to choose between the two balls, one was flashy and attractive while the other was a little less than mediocre.

Matilda thanked him then looked between the two pokéballs. After a while she decided that the flashy one was annoying, if she had to live with that for as long as she had her starter she would surely explode. ~Even if the dull one has the normal Charmander, I'd rather it then the flashy one.~ She reached out and picked up the dull one, still hoping that it might hold the Shiny Charmander. She held up the ball and asked; "What should I do now professor? Should I release it to find out, or will you tell me, or what?".
She remembered back to her home, part of the reason that the breeders was so well known was for her Mum's shiny charizard, Arlith. The pokémon that had inspired her love for Shinies (Sp?).
(( Please, If I don't get the shiny, can it at least be female? Sorry, but I have a little difficulty roleplaying males, and as my starter is probably the pokémon I'll use most, it'll be easier for me if it's female. I can slowly get used to other pokémon, but it would be so much easier if it's female. Oh, and if it's shiny and female, Well thats just an added bonus isn't it? Please? -Shot- ))
