"PPPPPPPOOOOOOCCCCCCHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!" The Poochyena jumped up with a start, and ran off without explanation. A Meowth was scratching it's ear with it's hind foot to the side of the path. A Bellsprout was soaking up the rays across the path, enjoying it's sun-bathe. Overhead, wings beated - whether it was Taillow, Pidgey, or Spearow, Natu, Ledian, or Ledyba, it was impossible to tell. Who would you choose? Once attacked, the other pokemon will go away...

"Let's keep going!" Mishelle shouted to Blast, who woke up instantly. She put her bag on kangaroo-style again, and was about to take a step before she noticed all the pokemon possibilities. "This is easier than I thought... Now let's see... Grass is good against water, so no Bellsprout, I don't want to try a flying pokemon, since I'm afraid might not be able to fare well against a flying pokemon. so, that leaves with Meowth. Blast nodded and turned towards the cat pokemon alongside his trainer. <Pumpernickel.> "What?" She looked at her Squirtle. <Nothing.> "Oh. okay. Oi! Meowth! Want to battle for fun?

The Meowth looked up from his scratching, and glared at the trainer and her single pokemon. "MEOW." <Fun battle? Pur-lease. I'll take ya'll down - no prob'em!> He shouted confidently, as he got up onto his four paws, scratching the ground with his scythe-like claws. <You can take the firs' move since I piteh you an' all...> He laughed at his own comment, and waited for Blash to make a move.

"Cool." She smiled, amazed at the diversity of pokemon. "I guess not all of the pokemon waddle around going 'pika'. Glad they don't, too." <Yay!> Blast nudged his trainer's leg before walking on all fours over so he was about five feet away from the meowth. "Go on, then!" He nodded his head and started forward at the best speed he could muster, bracing himself for a Tackle Attack.

The Meowth lifted his paw, and reached over leave a line of scratches across Blast's face as the Squirtle charged into him. Even though he was shoved backwards, he was fairly sure his attack had left a mark. Sneering, he rushed forward with another attack. <I scratched, you tackled, now I bite!> He yelled, knowing full well he was cheating since Blast had planned his attack first. But that had never really bothered the Meowth. Never once. Actually, it had made him one of the stronger pokemon on the Route.

"No, Blast!" Mishelle cried out as red lines drew themselves across his face Blast, frightened, reacted in a sudden burst of bubbles from his mouth, flying right into the Meowth's own mouth. "Oh... A Bubble attack!" Mishelle's eyes were in wonder; she knew Squirtles learned Bubble, but the fact that they hadn't trained it yet, but Blast still managed to use it, surprised her. She clutched Egg tightly and waited.

The Meowth gurgled and choked on the bubbles, but still bit down, hoping to attach onto Blast's head and end the miserable creature once and for all. The Meowth got very close to possibly ending all future fights for Blast, but at that instant, a bright light shone in from the tree branches, causing Blast to be completely healed, but Meowth fainted. Do not attack the beginners. You should not even be here... Do not ever return. The voice sounded powerful, and echoed off of nothing. It sounded magical, almost... Almost like it was the Guardian of the Route...
Blast gains 1 level. You did not find any money, though, since you did not actually 'win' the battle.
"Nido?" A Nidoran Male appeared, cocking his head at Mishelle.

"Aaaakwaard." Mishelle commented, walking over to Blast and petting him. "Thanks mysterious voice!" She shouted, then turned her attention on the Nidoran, approaching it slowly because she knew they were poisonous. "Hiya, little guy. Want to play? Or are you older than that, looking for a rougher match? Or just coming through?" Flub, this place sure has a lotta pokemon. Mishelle thought as Blast waddled up to greet the new creature.

The Mysterious Voice, apparently anti-social, did not respond. "Nido-o! Nido oran, nido nid nida?" He leaped up into Mishelle's arms - or, tried to. He didn't jump QUITE high enough (meaning, he got up to a little ways above her knee). <He-ey! What's up, dude and dudette?> He asked, after falling to the ground.

Mishelle beamed as she picked up the friendly pokemon, careful of the spikes. "We're doing great, thanks for checking. Whatcha doing around here? Live nearby?" <Nearby?> Blast echoed happily, waving up at the Nidoran.

"No. I'm beginning my TRAINER JOURNEY! OH YAH! I'm SOO excited! I get to go to the lab tomorrow, and pick out a human! Maybe I should just use you, though..." He muttered. Clearly he thought he was the head of the operation; not the trainers. But maybe it actually worked that way - that pokemon were superior, and were simply being kind in allowing the humans to believe that they were obeying them... Nah.

"You should definitely meet another human. Go for it, I started my trai- pokemon journey just a bit ago! Have fun, okay? Or maybe you want to have some battle experience before you go? Maybe we should have a play battle? Or do you just want to go on your way?" She didn't literally mean experience points, but just experience in how to actually battle. Mishelle had Blast in mind when she said so, but she also wouldn't mind assisting a pokemon.

"Nido... Nid nido doran, ni, nido o. Nida, rano. Nido ora!" <No... I'll just be, uh, on my way. Yah, that. Thanks though!> The Nidoran walked off, shaking off some dirt as it left. From a tree, a Pidgey watched the duo if full view, knowing full well that it could be easily seen.

"Hiya Pidgey over there!" Mishelle waved, wondering why the bird displayed itself in that way. Maybe this one wanted a battle? That would be stupendous! "Why don'tcha come over for a chat?" She grinned, Blast waved his tiny arm, copying his trainer. "Squirtle!" <Yeah!> He agreed, having no idea what he was aggreeing for, but oh well!

The Pidgey continued to sit on the branch and gaze them over. It didn't move a muscle. Not a one, not even to speak. Finally, after several minutes of an awkward silence, it opened up. <I speak not for the human who commands it of thineself. I speak only to those who reside in silence and bathe in the springs of eternal knowledge.> <Oh, stop trying to sound smart. You dumb as a buncha logs who just read a fancy story!> A Spearow cawed out, making the Pidgey blush noticably. <Um... Right..> The Pidgey stammered, now wanting very much to fly away. Its pride didn't let it retreat, though.
