The Bellsprouts let out a Bind attack, and began climbing up on top of each other, forming a wide and tall wall around Tylo, blocking out some of the sunlight in the process. Finally, an agitated trainer stepped out from behind a tree. "You just don't get it, do you?" He asked, snapping his fingers. At once, all the Bellsprout clambered off of each other, and ran off in some unknown direction.

Startled at the sudden appearence, Max jumped. "Whoa, were all of those yours? And what do you mean?" Max said, having recovered. Names weren't important right now. Tylo exhausted fell on the ground, tired and even more worn out. Max hated seeing Tylo, or any Pokemon like that.

"My families. Sort of." The boy said, brushing away the question with the quick response. "Pokemon aren't dumb. They understand English - that's obvious, since your pokemon understands you. But many trainers regard wild pokemon to be stupid and that they DON'T understand our language unless they're caught... Had you asked them to leave Tylo alone, they would have done so in an instant." He said calmly, pulling a Super Potion out of his bag. He gave the Super Potion to Tylo, and started talking again a few moments later. "All those Bellsprout over there are actually wild. We just care for them, and so they listen to us. Many of them have left to go to more extravagant places, where they can evolve and such. They're free to do anything they'd like - which is why they'd listen to you as well as they listen to me." Every word was spoken with tender loving care. He was obviously passionate about the topic of which he spoke.

Max was astonished. Pokemon on the same level as Humans. Could it be? He had to think this over. If they understand me, how can I ever catch one? After thinking it over he decided knowledge over humiliation and voiced the question out loud. Tlyo was bouncing up and down, now with new-found energy.

The boy laughed, and smiled as though he had answered that question many times before. It wasn't a mean laugh; it was an understanding laugh, and a sort of I-thought-you-might-say-that kind of grin. "Ah, it's an advantage on their part, but it's not always enough. Actually, it's usually not enough. Your pokemon, having faith enough in you to trust you to know what to do, respond instantly. Maybe faster, once you get a good understanding of each going. Wild pokemon, on the other hand, have to use that advantage of knowing what you're doing to figuring out how to beat it back - almost instantly." It was a conclusion no one he'd ever met had thought of, or even considered. Actually, even he hadn't thought of it, nor had his parents. Until his grandfather had let the statement flow out at the dinner-table conversation, as though it were obvious. (His grandfather was a very deep thinker, apparently...)

"...Have to know how to beat it from you."Max mumbled. "So, I have to be quicker. It's about speed." Max said with realization. Tylo jumped up and down, knowing that Max had made a connection. "We have to train real hard, OK"Max said to Tylo. "MakkMakkhita" Tylo added with agreement. One thought slowly came to Max's mind. "Umm, Sir. Who are you?"

"Pretty much. But having a level advantage - type advantage helps if you're lower or almost equal, but don't depend on it too much - also helps." He said, nodding in agreement to what Max had said. "Oh, you might not know me, but I think you know my big sis - Serenity? You know, the gym leader at Greenville." He shrugged, and looked at the watch on his wrist. Quickly, he ran off. Maybe he was late for something.

What a strange man, Max thought. Soon after he shrugged it off and walked over to the Makuhita. "Well, Ty. We need to get some training in before we go to sleep. So how about we go and find some wild pokemon. Then we can test out this new theory. Whadya Say?" "Makk, mak hita." {I agree, lets go.} Soon they were walking around the Route, searching every nook and cranny, looking for Pokemon.

As Tylo peered around a tree ((sorry to powerplay a bit there... >.<)), a Nidoran (male) decided that it was part of his duty to Tackle Tylo as soon as his hiding spot was discovered. Or, to try to Tackle, Tylo, at any rate. "Nid!" <Hiya!> It said cheerfully.

"Finally" Max said, releived that the search was over. "Tylo dodge that and use Tackle back." "Mak" {Right} Tylo dodged the attack, well a little. He suffered a little nik but was fine. He then used Tackle back, aiming away from the poison horns.

The Nidoran was thrown backwards, and looked hurt - emotionally, not physically so much. <Why'd ya do that?> It asked sadly, big puppy eyes forming. <I... I... I JUST WAN'ED TO BE FRIENDS!> It sobbed, tears forming, as they leaked out. That wasn't entirely true, but from the moment it had jumped out, it had made the decision: MAKE FRIENDS WITH MAKUHITA. Why it had decided that so suddenly was unknown.

Max was alarmed to see the small Pokemon crying. "It's alright little buddy. We want hurt you anymore. We just thought you wanted to battle." Max said this with the truest tone he could have ever made. Tylo heard what the Nidoran said and replied "Makkkuhitaaa, Mak" {Thats cool. If you want to be friends, then you could come along with us. Max is really nice.} Tylo hoped this would satisfy the weird Pokemon.

<Well... Maybe...> It said, biting it's lip as it considered the offer. A trainer would mean many things. Like, free food. And less freedom. Food... Freedom... Food... Freedom... Which was more important? Those kind of decisions took quite a while to make. "Piiid!" <You can battle me!> A Pidgey cawed as it flew out of the air, landing in front of Tylo.

"It seems we have a lot of takers for the battling. I guess that Nidoran is thinking so we'll battle that Pidgey. Alright Tylo?" Max was astonished at the determination of the Pokemon to battle. "MakkMakk" {I'm game} the Makuhita responded. He said to the Nidoran "Makk, hita hit. {We'll be right back. You just think about it.}"

The Nidoran nodded, taking this into consideration as well. Finally, he stepped back to his tree, and waited for the battle to start. The outcome of the battle - and how it was done - would probably be the deciding factor on whether or not he joined them. <Fine.> The Pidgey said, once the Nidoran was out of the way. Immediately, it flew up dust and debree, sending a Gust attack towards Tylo!
