Ever so quickly the charmander made it's way to route one. The busy noise of humans was left behind, and the quiet beauty of the forest replaced it. Hopefully some pokemon would scurry by to assist the charmander and her new pokemon in leveling up. With a smirk Kiara opened the pack, releasing her houndour.
Yager was lieing down, not looking to hot. Slowly the houndour stood up, looking curiously at the Charmander, Your my new owner? A Charmander? he said sarcasticly. It turned it's body towards the pokemon curiously. It did have a bit of a human scent to it, how strange. Yager sighed, glancing around the forest. oh how he wished he could curl bakc up into his pokeball, he hated conversing with others. He was pretty anit-social.
Her excited expression disapeared. So her new pokemon was a bum huh? Well i am human! she spat back. Surely he coudl smell it. Hopefully she could snap him out of this depressing mood. Well, at least for her. She wanted to be friends. Cheer up! she cooed, approching the dog. A small orange hand patted it on the head, You'll be feeling better in no time! she said determined to show him a good time, and bond with him.

A pokemon, who seemed to have heard the entire conversation, stepped out of the brush in had been hiding behind. It was a small little Lotad, and didn't look like it was much in a fighting-ish mood. It gazed at the duo of fire pokemon, half with superiority, since it was part water, and half with disdain, since it was also grass. "Lo lot otad lotad? Lotad tad otad lota lat otad otad? Lota ot lotad ad?" <Where's your guys's trainer? Aren't you guys supposed to have humans? Or am I mistaken?>

Kiara was the first to notice the pokemon. She cocked her little red head to the side. Trainers? So the pokemon didn't smell the small amount of human on her. Interesting, they usually noticed that first. She turned towards the Lotad. They weren't her favorite pokemon. She definetly wasn't looking to catch one really. But whatever! The Charmander grinned at the Lotad, Trainers? I am the trainer she said proudly with a smile. She took a few steps towards the lotad, studying it carefully. then, unsuspectingly, she lunged towards the Lotad, using scratch.
Yager was watching Kiara. He didn't want to be cheered up. He like hte way he was right now. He thoguht he was jsut fine, but a tad lonely. Maybe haveing a few friends wouldn't be too bad. He took a whiff of air, taking in the Lotad's scent. He stood up, watching Kiara advance towards the Lotad. Even he didn't expect the move Kiara made. His auds perked up at the begingin of the battle. The Lotad wsn't in a battling mood, but kiara sure was. She was deffinetly looking to level up. It would be an interesting battle though. Water VS. Fire. But the Lotad was half grass....

The Lotad easily dodged the Tackle. Why was SHE attacking first? If she fainted, she'd have to return to the lab - or get all the way to Greenville - somehow... And her pokemon didn't look like he'd be carrying here any part of the way there. But either way, the Lotad just shrugged, and sent a Water Pulse after Kiara. Water Pulse? Wasn't that... A TM move? That could have meant one of three things: 1) The Lotad had a trainer 2) The Lotad HAD had a trainer or 3) There were TMs somewhere on the route.

[purple]Water Pulse? That was strange. It was a TM Move. This caught Kiara off gaurd. She was hit by the Water Pulse, doing a bit of damage. Actually quite a bit because of her fire type. The stummbled forward, her HP down quite a bit. She growled, upset at not even hitting hte Lotad. She wanted to become a Charizard, and here she couldn't even hit a Lotad, soem poekmon she was. But yes, she was being foolish. One more hit and she could faint. Then what was she supposed to do? The cherry red form grew taller, taking on a more pale complexion and much more human like asspects. She glacned at Yager, it was the first tiem hes seen her in her human form. Oh how embarassed she was. Pathetic, she hated herself right now. She gave a cold glare at Yager, Get 'em would ya? Ember! she cried., standing up to face the Lotad and Yager.[/purple]
[red]Wow. The Lotad completly missed Kiara's move. Yager couldn't help but smirk at that. He watched at Kiara was hit by the water attack. Ouch, how he would hate to get hit by that. Then the charmanders form chagned into that of a strangers. So that was his master? But that only ment one thing. Now he had to battle. He didn't want to battle. But level ing up sounded pretty good. Immediately he obeyed the comand, launching an Ember at the Lotad. Now that he knew the pokemon's most powerful, well probably most powerful, move, he was ready. He stood alert and on his toes, focused in the battle.[/red]

The Lotad seemed to be a seasoned battler. It stood up on it's hind legs so the Ember hit the lower half of it's body - the water half. Had the attack hit it's leafy-head, it would have been done for. Or, almost done for. It ignored the transformation. The Houndour was it's opponent now. It couldn't have cared less if the world exploded while it was battling. As long as it won, it was good. It used Astonish, hoping to do two things. It wanted to catch the Houndour off guard, hoping that the dog would think it would use Water Pulse. It also hoped it could make the dog flinch. That wasn't too incredibly likely, though.

[red]The dog didn't flinch, but it did little damage. The Lotad definetly must be owned by a trainer, or use to have a trainer. It looked expert. Kiara was just begining, and so was her Houndour. Maybe battling with a lower leveled pokemon wasn't the best way to go. She grinned taking another pokeball from her bag. She released her newly aquired Spoink, Level 7. Surely this one had more experience then her Houndour. Spitzy, Psywave! she commanded. The small pig like pokemon bounced up and down, sie to side, never staying in one place. She happily followid her order. Perhaps having an obnoxious, hyper pokemon will pay off after all.[/red]

The Lotad was hit, but it was quickly apparent that Spitzy actually had no more experience than her trainer or Yager. She had been hatched, given some rare candies, and put up for a giveaway. No battling experience. Darn... The Lotad was knocked backwards, but sent a Water Pulse towards Spitzy, hoping to confuse what was it's stongest opponent. Unfortunately, there wouldn't be any super-effective hits - at least, not from Water Pulse - but confusion would definately be a bonus. If it happened at all, that was...

Well, this was no use. the Lotad was to powrful for her and her pokemon. The girls pesimistic side began to come out as she slouched down to the groumd. Sitting indian style she thougth over quickly her battlling strategy. She was scratching something into the ground, debating weather to give up or not. Well, that would be a waste of the begining of her journey. Plus she was a determined young nut. Quickly she was disgusted at herself for even thinking of giving up. She would win, or faint trying. Her amethyst eyes poped up from her scratching on the ground just in time to see the water pulse just skim Spitzy because of her repeated and random bouncing. Hit 'em with a shadow ball! she encouraged as she stood up. Yager crept to her side, taking a seat by her feet. Both their eyes were glue dtot he battle, bakc and forth they glanced at the pokeon, trying to think of advantages.

The Lotad was hit by the Shadow Ball, but it's special defense remained intact - it wouldn't have mattered much if it had changed, though. The Lotad was almost glad it had been hit. It's opponents were obviously amateurs when it came to battling; their confidence had been lowered, but now it was reboosted. They wouldn't leave as so many others had. Who would have thought that a region with so few trainers would be filled with people who demanded victory? Blech. The Lotad shook the thoughts from it's head, and sent another Water Pulse towards the energetic pig... Thing.

This isn't at all the way she wished to start her journey: getting her butt kicked by a mere Lotad. But perhaps it was her fault they were in this fight. And now her pokemon were taking the heat for her. Oops... Oh well, her determined and vicous mind left no room for sympothy and weakness. She scanne dher surroundings, trying to find a way to use the enviroment as an advantage against the Lotad. but everything seemed to be in the Lotad's favor. She glanced back just in time to to watch Spitzy get skimmed by the water pulse. Spitzy lost her balance, tumbling over into a near by bush. At least it was a semi-soft landing. That was it! Not only did Spitzy pick it up, but Kiara did also. Spitzy was a smart pig thing. The tiny, grey, energy filled ball stayed hiden within he bush, then with a powerufl bounce it leaped jumpe dstaight up, sending a Psywave at the Lotad. It then concealed itself within the foliage again. Even if the Lotad could see her, she was protected by the foliage for the most part. A water pulse would half, maybe not even half, damage it it still hit her. Sure, the Lotad may use the foliage to hid too, but it was her idea, it gave her an confidance boost again.
