Deciding to train for his first battle, Max descended into the depths of the bubbling hot, magma filled bowels of the Volcano, hoping to find some good Pokemon, eager to battle.

((W00t! Finally! Someone in the volcano!)) In the midst of the volcano's center, sat a Vulpix. A bit to it's left was a Houndour, and to it's right, was a Growlithe. They were all a fair distance apart, but seemed to be almost guarding the entrance to the actual volcano. None of the first-stage fire dogs said anything. Nor did they move; though it was apparent that they had seen Max. With his every step, their eyes followed his, almost as if magnets attached the three pokemon's set of eyes to Max's own eyes.

Max walked around at what appeared to be the entrance to the Volcano. He saw, staring back at him, 3 sets of fire red eyes, the eyes of fire dogs. Max saw they were all lined up, like small gaurds, gaurding the Pink Panther Diamond. Seeing the Growlithe, he walked up to it. "May I havethis battle?" Max said, trying to bow to be courteous to the guard dog.

<Well.. I guess.> The Growlithe said, rather taken aback by the bow - in a good way, though. So not all humans were rude, obnoxious, and uncaring... Hm. Interesting. He still could be. The Growlithe reminded itself as it rose to it's preferred battling stance.

"Alright, lets go Tylo." Max threw the pokeball and Tylo came out, blinking at the sudden appearence of the new setting. After he got over the shock, Tylo was ready for battle. He was soon ready for the opponents move.

The Growlithe let out a jet of flame - an Ember, out of it's mouth towards Tylo. The Vulpix and the Houndour were watching with a mild interest, though they didn't budge an inch from their 'guard' positions.

"Quick, Tylo. Use Sand Attack to smother the fire then use Tackle on the Growlithe." The fire was coming straight at Tylo. He started his spin and put out most of the flames but was still hurt a little. He then ran straight for the Growlithe, a Tackle attack.

The Growlithe let out another Ember, a little bit stronger than the first, both to slow down Tylo's attack, and to injure it's opponent at the same time. The dog felt Tylo's body collide with its own, but wasn't sure if Tylo had been burned - or even hurt - by its own attack.

Tylo saw the Ember coming to late. He was hit and burned in the process. It left the scars to prove it. Every so often, he felt is strength being zapped away. "Now, Tylo. Use Tackle again then a Sand Attack." Tylo ran at the small dog and tried to hit him hard. After he was done, he planned on spinning around very fast.

That time, the Growlithe wasn't quite fast enough, and was hit by the full force of the attack. Before the sand was flown in it's face, though, it leaped forward, attempting to close it's jaws around Tylo in a Bite attack. Right after that, the sand hit it's mark, practically blinding him. Furious, the Growlithe used Ember, hoping to increase the amount of damage the burn would already be doing. However, thanks to the sand, his accuracy was lowered.

After the Growlithe had been hit by the Sand-Attack and shot the Embers, Max called out "Dodge, then use Tackle again through the sand." Tylo leaped through the sand and tried to aim right at the Growlithe, still having pain, but appearing to ignore it.

The Growlithe had rolled over at that precise moment, trying to get the sand out of it's eyes by shoving it into the ground. It avoided the Tackle attack; it didn't even realize Tylo had been running at it. It didn't attack that turn, though the burns were increasing it's chances of victory, anyway.
((He did sand attack, not sandstorm.))

OoC: Sorry, I get carried away. XD
BiC: Seeing his chances of victory being wittled away, Max called out in desperation "Tylo, use a Tackle from behind, try to get a critical hit." Tylo started the run back to the Growlithe, trying to catch him off gaurd.

The Growlithe was hit, but there wasn't a critical hit. Instead, the Growlithe was simply pushed forward, rubbing it's face against the dust and ash that resided on the bottom of the volcano. Growlithe was used to that, so it didn't hurt it as much as it would have another pokemon - but it still effected him. It jumped up, twirled around, and tried to Bite Tylo. It planned on letting an Ember attack rip through his teeth if he hit. Or if he didn't clamp onto the Makuhita... Either one. So he let the jet of fire swarm just behind his fangs, bit down where he thought Tylo would be, and let the flames go wild.

The end was near. Now wasn't the time to back down. "Tylo, last chance. Use Tackle at the oncoming enemy. Don't hold back." Tylo ran at the oncoming Growlithe, not standing down. He released all of his power on what he thought would be the soon to be hit.
