Max took this opportunity to call out orders for a quick Horn Attack. Holin used the Horn Attack, this time without hesitation. He had made the descision to win this battle a while back. Now that his mind was made up, nothing would stop him.

The Growlithe led them through the path the Charmeleon was guarding.

Max was excited. The heart of the volcano. I wonder what would be inside. He ran over to his Nidoran and ruffled his horns. They didn't sting him since Holin liked him. "You were great, Holin. If you keep this up, then you will be a class A fighter!" Holin started to bounce up and down, happy to almost be able to be a fighter. He was almost of evolution age, when Nidorina would be his new form and then he would need to locate a Moon Stone to become the all powerful Nidoking. Max walked into the next room, the heart.

In the heart of the volcano there were several rocks acting as a path. There was lava everywhere. There was a small circle of land in the middle of the circular room. There was a table like thing with something shiny on it. Would you look at it?

Of Course! Max walked slowly down the path, admiring the Volcano heart. It was breathtaking, in a good and scary way. He made sure not to step on any lava and jumped from rock to rock. Soon, he was on the small island in the middle to find....

There were several stones there. You may only choose one though or you'll be attacked by who knows what. The stone included: Fire, Water, Leaf, and Thunder.

Stones! They were what every trainer wanted. A little disappointed that there was no Moon Stones, but, thinking of Katrina, he picked up the Thunder Stone. He needed a thunder Pokemon on his team. He just took on, fearing what would happen if he took them all, and looked for an exit. I wonder where it would be.

The Growlithe bounded back down the path and used Ember on a wall in the only path. It fell and provided an exit. The fire dog waved goodbye and then bounded off.

Max saw the exit and, relieved, exited the Volcano. He reflected on his Volcano experince and saw that he had some near death experiences. Just then he realized how lucky he was and vowed not to go in there again.
